UI/UX Design Mistakes That Are Costing You Customers

Small interface decisions add up to lost conversions. Here are the mistakes we see most often, and what to do instead.

Most conversion problems are not caused by one dramatic flaw — they are the accumulation of small friction points that make a site feel harder to use than it needs to be. Here are the ones we see most often.

Unclear calls to action

If a visitor has to think about what happens when they click a button, that hesitation costs you conversions. Buttons should say exactly what they do — "Request a quote," not "Learn more."

Inconsistent spacing and hierarchy

When every section uses different spacing, font sizes and alignment, a page feels unfinished even if the content is good. Visual consistency is what makes a site feel trustworthy at a glance.

Forms that ask for too much, too soon

Every unnecessary field on a contact or signup form is a reason for someone to abandon it. Ask only for what you need to take the next step, and leave the rest for later.

Ignoring mobile as a first-class experience

Designing for desktop and hoping mobile "just works" almost always produces a worse experience for the majority of visitors, since most traffic to most sites is now mobile.

No visible feedback

When a button is clicked or a form is submitted, users need to see that something happened — a loading state, a confirmation message. Silence reads as "broken," even when it is not.

Fixing this properly

These issues are usually easy to fix individually but hard to catch from the inside, since you already know how your own site works. That is exactly what a proper UI/UX design review is for. Send us your site and we will point out what is quietly costing you customers.
